Truck Driver / Construction Laborer
J Pratt Construction is looking for a truck driver / laborer to add to our growing team. Be part of a company who does a wide variety of work including road/sidewalk construction, box culverts, retaining walls, drainage, concrete flat work, grading and much more. The possibilities are endless as we provide a dynamic skillset with projects ranging from $5,000 to $4 million.
Typical responsibilities would include the following:
- Follow all safety rules
- Frequently drive in high stress areas such as construction zones, busy downtown streets
- Drive to and from pits delivering various materials to the job site
- Keep the trucks clean and conduct regular maintenance on them
- Work alongside a crew of 1-10 people daily
- Load, unload, and move equipment to and from different job sites
- Use hand tools and equipment such as shovels, rakes, plate compactors, etc.
- Perform physically demanding tasks with the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Job Requirements
- Must have a valid Class B License, Class A preferred.
- Minimum 1-3 years of truck driving experience
- High School Diploma
- Positive attitude and team player
- Self-motivated
- Good physical condition and stamina
- Ability to take direction and perform tasks alongside others
- General knowledge of how to use basic construction tools and a tape measure
- Knowledge of how to run and load equipment such as excavator, dozers, loaders is preferred, but willing to train the right candidate.
